WHY WE ENTERED THE ARENA:
A STORY OF RESILIENCE
We didn’t set out to become another Searcher or capital group. We started our first business in 2018 and fell in love with the process of tackling important problems. We fell in love with the grit, determination, and beauty of what business could do to transform people’s lives.
In 2023, SearchX first launched as a platform to help other Searchers find and close deals. We closed 2 deals, won multiple LOIs and coached numerous great Searchers… but we also saw many great deals fall apart by the private equity mindset of supposedly “deal friendly Searchers”.
After meeting with dozens of owners, getting to know their families, their people and their “get things done” mindsets – it was clear that another buyer MUST enter the arena. So we did.
SearchX is a family-run acquisition company on a mission to elevate people and communities.

FOUNDER ORIGINS
BRENDEN LEE
I grew up in Vancouver BC, 1 of 6 kids – the grandson of Arthur Smith and Ark Haim Lee, pioneers who moved from Winnipeg To Vancouver and Hong Kong to Vancouver to create jobs, communities and families.
They, along with my dad, mom and brothers, taught me the value of building things and helping those around me. Today, my wife and I live in Toronto. We serve a local church and each run our own companies. We believe in building large families and living out the values of grit, pioneering and generosity.
SearchX is the extension of my family to yours - a commitment to entrepreneurship, resilience and creating large futures for those around us.
OUR BEGINNINGS
Our first company grew from an idea to 22 employees. We operated 6 delivery-only kitchens across Toronto over 5 years. As a small business operator with acquisition experience, SearchX was born to find and grow existing, cash-flowing businesses. Through SearchX, we have supported, financed and completed 2 SMB acquisitions.
